Coffee Cycles

I just read a fascinating article at randomwalker’s journal about drinking coffee as a productivity aid (found via The Morning News).
In summary, to maximise productivity in creative, thinking tasks:

Nap briefly after lunch (or when you feel really tired during the day);
Drink coffee early in the morning and just after your nap;
Quit coffee for a week [...]

Charity coffee

I’m in Melbourne for the day for work. On my way in I stopped to grab some coffee at a little stall. And I discovered a fascinating little system, using the trays in the picture below:

When you buy a coffee, they give you a card (like the 2 of diamonds shown). The card serves the [...]

Drawing practice with coffee

This morning I had coffee at Zellini’s in Randwick and found the above picture on the back of their drinks menu. The diagrams aren’t quite as fancy as the one I posted a while ago, but still a nice gesture at helping out with the navigation of café culture.

All about me

I hope that people of other ethnicities will read this and come to understand my culture.

Café Review: Re:hab, Pt Douglas

The interior is dark and cool, a welcome respite from the oppressive heat and bright [...]

Coffee types

Someone sent me this link a while ago (or I found it - I can’t remember). It’s awesome. Nice clean infographic style presentation of the different kind of espresso drinks you can order.
It lists flat white so I believe that means the creator of the pictures lives in Australia or New Zealand.

Preparing Coffee

This Wikipedia article gives an excellent factual overview of all the different ways that coffee is prepared. There were some there that I didn’t know about.
As is usual with Wikipedia it’s informative rather than providing guidance about how to prepare coffee.
(Thanks to Marian for the link)
